Stephen Curry to the NBA

At approximately 11:30 a.m. Davidson junior guard Stephen Curry declared for the NBA draft. He also stated that he will be hiring an agent meaning that he will not be allowed to take his name out of the draft and return to school. As a bigger fan of college basketball than the NBA, naturally I wanted Curry to remain at Davidson. However, I am just as excited to see him move his game to the next level. In three years at Davidson he scored 2,635 points, 28.6 his senior year, including 5.6 assists (First Team All-American). Curry made a name for himself during the NCAA tournament his sophomore season when he lead Davidson to the elite 8, eventually losing to future champion Kansas. Going into his junior year, Curry made the move from shooting guard to point guard where he showed scouts that he can run a team continuing to improve his stock. Most experts have Curry in their top ten prospects who have entered the draft and he is expected to go somewhere in the lottery. Some scouts compare him to the Phoenix Suns Steve Nash because of his ability to shoot and score as well as pass. Teams also like his basketball IQ and despite not being extremely strong they believe he is quick enough and smart enough to make up for it. No matter where Curry ends up, he will more than likely have a chance to play right away and make an impact for his team. Personally, I am very excited to see how his game translates in the NBA. Will he be able to overcome his lack of strength and size to be a star in the NBA? Many scouts and experts think so. Do you?
